Jöst has been an active member of the IHK Executive Board since 2019. As President, he will represent the interests of business community in Südhessen. Key priorities for him include creating more room for companies to operate instead of increasing regulation, encouraging a bold realignment of economic policy, and ensuring reliable framework conditions for innovation and investment.
“We need a truly free social market economy again—one that is free from excessive regulation and administrative micromanagement,” Jöst emphasizes. Together with policymakers and the business community, he aims to initiate a turnaround towards a stronger investment culture in Südhessen.
Sustainability has also been an important topic for him for many years. As the only entrepreneurial member of the Sustainable Finance Advisory Council of the previous federal government, he advocated for practical solutions that do not burden companies with unnecessary bureaucracy. He also lives sustainability privately—referring to his herd of alpacas with a wink as his “environmentally friendly lawnmowers.”
