The ETA-Plus Südhessen network connects with small and medium-sized companies. It offers the opportunity to jointly implement energy-saving measures and in this way make a contribution to greater energy efficiency and climate protection in the region. On March 3rd, 2022, the first network meeting organized by the IHK Darmstadt Rhein Main Neckar took place at our main site in Affolterbach. The meeting included a visit to a best-practice example and the associated presentation of an energy efficiency or climate protection measure. As a member company of ETA-PLUS, the topic of the meeting at our company was "generating and storing your own electricity". Completed in 2020, the logistics and dispatch center at the Ober-Abtsteinach site was built to the highest environmental standards. The halls are equipped with a photovoltaic system in combination with a storage system and a small wind turbine. This means that around 90 percent of the power supply is generated in the production and logistics center itself. Wind and sun are helping us on our way to climate neutrality and a move away from fossil fuels. We, the company Jöst abrasives, stand for sustainability and environmentally friendly action and want to contribute to a climate-neutral world as a positive example of sustainable corporate management.
